1. First up, please give us a little introduction; tell the readers who you are and how you found out about deviantART.
I'm Angela, a 24-year old icon and UI designer living in the Philippines. I found out about DeviantArt way back when I was still collecting icons for my Mac.
2. What was your first ever icon?
I used to create icons for my own use, then shared them at MacThemes. I started to release a theme first though before I released an icon. The iPhone theme was called 'Lush', which got a DD the day after I joined DeviantArt. It's not the best theme but hey, just a few went around in the 2G days.
3. Do you currently own an iPhone? If so, what's the app you most favour and would recommend to any iPhone user?
Oh my, just one? It's a toss up between Simplenote and 1Password. For jailbreakers though, I would recommend the Cydia app, Xpandr. It's like Text Expander for your iPhone.
4. Opinions time: What do you think of the new iTunes icon?
Sadly, it looks like it took Apple 2 minutes to make that one. But wait, they also made the Mac App Store icon look like it. So, meh.
5. What projects have you most recently been involved in?
The most recent iPad project I was involved with is an app by Spreadsong called Books. The new UI will come out soon, and it'll be a pleasant surprise for those who already have the app.
The most recent iPhone project I was involved with is an app by NanoBrook Studios called 1List (NanoBrook is also behind the 1st iPad project I worked on, Recipy, which you can preview at RecipyApp.com). I'm genuinely excited about this app amidst the clutter of to-do apps in the App Store. Once you use it, you'll realize how much thought went into the UI to make it as easy and as efficient as possible. I can't share a preview of it yet, but I'll be posting one very soon on Dribbble, so watch out!
6. What would you say is your most favourite icon in your dA gallery?
Probably the Billings replacement icon because I'm a heavy Billings user, and I see it on my Dock everyday.
7. Aside from icons and design interfaces, what else do you enjoy drawing?
More than drawing, I recently took interest in photography (like who hasn't these days?). It's a 'baby' interest still, but who knows where that'll lead.
8. Who or what would you say are your biggest inspirations and influences?
Now I'd say Anton Zykin and his team but I just discovered about them this year. Early on, the people who helped and inspired me are: Jonas Rask, Davin Lanham, Susumu Yoshida, Louie Mantia, Natalie Nash, Na Wong, and a bunch of other great designers at MacThemes and Macristocracy.
9. What is your operating system of choice and why?
Mac. Cliche as it is, it just works.
10. What software do you use when you are making your icons?
Adobe Photoshop
11. Do you have any tips or valuable wisdom for aspiring iconists?
Release, release, release! That's how we can all practice and get discovered.
12. Please tell us what you're currently working on, or tell us a little about your next project.
I'm currently working on a new (card) game for Optime Software that'll be for the iPhone and iPad.

So, when did dA start ripping off Patreon?
So I return to deviantART, only to find it pretty much Patreon in dark mode. Interesting... Oh, also, hey guys how are you? I can only apologise for my lack of attendance. The following things happened: I helped create a game on Steam. I got a new job. I bought a NIntendo Switch I'm crap at Super Smash Bros. I made new friends on Twitter. On my boyfriend's account. I got in debt. I attempted to get out of debt. I failed to get out of debt. I missed you all. That is all.
Rare Pokemon Go finds
OK, so I made a lot of people jealous last weekend by managing to catch a few, shall we say, less simple to catch Pokemon in Hyde Park, London. However one guy told me that I had clearly cheated because the Pokemon I caught are not even available in this country.
Apparently, the Farfetch'd is only available to catch in Asia, and the Kangaskhan is only available to catch in Australasia.
But somehow I managed to catch both of these Pokemon. In Hyde Park. In London. Last weekend.
Weird.
P.S. I also caught 12 Mr. Mimes, which was good.
16th Birthdayness
Hey everyone! So, I thought I'd take part in the 16th Birthday Colouring challenge, and came up with this:
It was my second attempt, I started doing a bunny but failed when I realised the blocks didn't quite go my way :|
Anyway happy birthday deviantART, I cannot believe it's been 16 years.

Pokemon Go
Hello fellow deviants.
Firstly, let me apologise for not being around for a while, RL gets in the way too much nowadays.
So, I downloaded this Pokemon Go thing 'cause like, everyone is talking about it and I also heard that it's so addictive people have been injured whilst not paying attention to where they are going or what they are doing.
Sorry to say, I don't get it. What's the appeal?
