Yep it's that time again

I'd like to propose a contest

As GM of Icons & Handhelds I would like to take this opportunity to open a new contest to all iconists and iPod theme designers. The contest will be entitled:




The idea is to design a set of icons (or singular icon in different sizes) or iPod/iPhone theme with icons based on the title of the contest. There are two categories for this contest: Icons and Handhelds - the former including icon sets or singular icons and the latter for themes. The idea can be interpreted in any way you wish, and you may submit up to 3 entries but only in the same category.


ICONS:
You can submit pixel icons or vector icon sets. All icon sets must include at least a 32x32 and a 48x48 icon but MAY additionally include smaller ones/bigger ones. Your icon set must also include at least 5 different icons (this does not include different colours, they must be different in appearance) and no more than 15. Icon sets must have a preview displaying at least 3 of the icons included and must be uploaded as a zip file in the Icons category.

HANDHELDS:
iPod/iPhone themes must have at least ONE full springboard of icons, including Dock replacements. There must be replacements for the following standard icons: Photos, Settings, Safari, iPod, Clock, Notes, Calendar, Phone, Mail and Messages. You may include bespoke icons, including games or any other popular iPod/iPhone app. You must also design a lock screen and a wallpaper to go with the theme. These are the MINIMUM requirements but you may do more. The theme should have a preview of both the lock screen and springboard, along with the icons and reside in the Handhelds -> iPod Touch category.


Anyone can enter!
This may be a given, but all your entries MUST be your own work and MUST be for this contest only - no copying, revamped themes or modification of existing icons.
The icons/themes you make must NOT be offered free to the public until the contest is OVER, and you must only display it here on deviantART and not on external blogs or websites until the winners are announced. If I discover contest entries elsewhere, you will be disqualified.
As mentioned above, you may submit a MAXIMUM of 3 entries, but all in the same category.
Judges are being selected, and will be displayed here when chosen.
Prizes are not decided but I will be contacting Danie shortly to agree a set of awesome prizes.
Contest is officially OPEN from publish of this journal and the deadline is 11 September 2010 - so 3 weeks.
Deadline MAY be extended in certain circumstances, any updates will be posted on this journal entry.
